Latest News: March 2022
In July 2020, I started my Level 3
Matwork Pilates Qualification with Body Control Pilates and in February half term I headed up to London to complete my final exam. I am very pleased to be able to say I passed and look forward to implementing what I have learnt into my dance classes and begin to set up some Pilates classes in addition to my dance classes.
Pilates Qualification:
Annual CPD: 2021
To maintain my registered teacher status with the RAD, I have to complete 20 Hours of CPD every year. Last year during the lockdown, I completed these fantastic webinars run by One Dance UK. They covered:
-An introduction to dance in education
-Safe dance practice in Primary schools
-Cross curricular dance
-Performance and appreciation in Primary Dance
-Growth, maturation and dance in the primary years: Physical and psychological developments.
I enjoyed them so much, I am topping up my CPD this year with...
-Psychological developments and dance from childhood to adolescence
-The craft of choreography
Looking forward to using my new knowledge and understanding in my classes and work with local primary schools.
2017-18
I am incredibly lucky to be apart for the 2017-18 Overture cohort. Myself and 14 other dance artists from across the country, will be working with Matthew Bourne's RE:Bourne project to develop our skills in all aspects of our profession. This is a year long project over four weekends. I cannot wait to transfer the skills I will gain from these workshops to my existing classes & project & to go on to develop more dance opportunities for the community of Devon.
